arloca: What inspired you to start your business?
Greta: I’ve always been an entrepreneur, so after my training at the Bonsecours Ceramic Center, it was only natural for me to develop my small business. I built my workshop, which I call "my haven of peace," in Morin-Heights, in the Laurentians, where I can create, produce, and sell my ceramics.
arloca: What are you most proud of professionally?
Greta: I am proud of the evolution of my workshop. I’m also proud of my porcelain collection in black and white that people love. I take pride in being present in some beautiful boutiques. I’m proud of my participation in creating a light fixture for the Studio d'Armes, which will be displayed at the design fair in Milan next April. Lastly, I’m proud to be able to offer ceramic workshops for survivors of sexual violence, thanks to those who purchased "the candle that does good," sold for this cause.
arloca: What do you enjoy most about your work?
Greta: I love everything about my job... Maybe I enjoy the cleaning of the workshop a bit less 😁 but, well, it’s part of the job. I feel privileged to have realized my childhood dream and to live off my passion.
Her Louis XX collection was created to celebrate her son's twentieth birthday. This collection aims to return to the material in its raw state, reflecting a need for close contact with the earth. The collection is made from a sandy-colored pyritic stoneware. The pyrite gives the clay its dark spots, which can vary from one batch of clay to another.
For those who love plants, here are fully handmade planters and pots that will enhance your greenery. In addition to being talented and creative, Greta knows how to elevate our daily lives.
