Almost 3 years ago, the arloca boutique was born out of a desire to offer products that I loved for their story and their beauty.

Today, I would like to introduce you to the incredible work of a Quebec entrepreneur, Anne-Marie Coulombe. Her business, Rouge Renard, offers us original, recycled products that are entirely conceived and made in Quebec.

I also wanted to send you my best wishes for this new year and thank you for your loyalty.

Catherine: What drove you to start your business, Rouge Renard?

Anne-Marie: I worked for 15 years in the field of costumes and then wedding dresses and I loved it. However, I was missing 2 things: being freer and becoming my own boss. I wanted to fully express my creativity and do things my way, but also to make a difference for the environment.

Q: What drove you to work with recycled materials?

Anne-Marie: I have always had a strong ecological streak! Basically, I was looking for a way to prevent animal leather from ending up in the trash! I find that aberrant and sad! Moreover, leather production, whether it's livestock farming, processing, transport, etc... everything is extremely polluting. I therefore consider that its use must be responsible and respectful.

I also subsequently discovered that many materials were being wasted and that I could reuse them in my creations. That is what has made Rouge Renard what it is today.

Q: What is your biggest challenge for 2022?

Anne-Marie: My challenge for 2022 is, first of all, to adapt Rouge Renard to the new realities!

We are working hard to have a simpler and more pleasant presence on the internet!

But my ultimate goal will be to learn how to get help, to delegate a few facets of the company so I can focus on development. Rouge Renard is my little baby, it's not easy! We have the happiness of having managed to emerge from the pandemic stronger and we want to continue to grow!

What does Rouge Renard offer?

Rouge Renard is a line of handbags, totes, and accessories made from reclaimed materials. Each piece is unique and handmade. The reclaimed materials currently include leather, vinyl, awning fabric, banner material for linings, and seatbelts.

Who is behind Rouge Renard?

Anne-Marie Coulombe has several years of experience in sewing. Costumes, wedding dresses... She has worked with almost every type of fabric and material, always driven by a passion for creating and ecology, and an ardent desire to think outside the box.

"Rouge" for her beautiful red hair, certainly, but also for the rebellious side.

"Renard" (Fox), because like the elegant and mysterious animal, Anne-Marie is cunning and driven by a need to do things differently.
